Left 4 Dead is one of the most iconic game in gaming history. It is a zombie killing game where you go through multiple different sub-levels to complete one main level. there are 4 main levels in Left 4 Dead 1 and 5 main levels in Left 4 Dead 2. What makes these games way different from any normal zombie game is the fast paced gameplay along with the twist of special infected such as the Boomer, Hunter, Tank, Smoker, Witch, and many more. They make sure you stay on the tip of your toes with there special abilities like the Tank's increased health and monster strength and the Hunter's leaping ability to pounce on to you. Overall Left 4 Dead is an all time classic that will never be forgotten, but will Back 4 Blood surpass it, maybe.
Back 4 Blood has a lot of twist like Left 4 Dead, but with a lot of originality to the mix. Like Left 4 Dead, Back 4 Blood has the same sub-level to main level system. It also has similar special infected like the Reeker, Tall Boy, Stalker, and many more. The Tall Boy has the super strength and increased health like the Tank and Stalker's have the mobility and agility of the Hunter. Back 4 Blood has a lot of originality though as well. As well as finding weapons and accessories to help fight off the hoards like in Left 4 Dead, Back 4 Blood has its own money system, In this system, you collect copper and at the beginning of each level you can buy weapons, equipment, and even upgrades to your health and stamina. they also have a brand new card system where you create a deck before playing and at the start of each sub-level you are able to pick one card from the deck. You can also find these cards scattered throughout the levels. Many of the cards either help you with damage, health, stamina, or even helping you find more copper.
Overall, Back 4 Blood has a ton of originality and fun game mechanics which can easily make this a top 10 game for me. Especially with a lot of extra content coming soon, I would say Back 4 blood has a lot of potential and could possibly pass the great Left 4 Dead.
