Squid Game (Spoiler Free)

I have watched a ton of good Netflix shows including Outer Banks and Stranger Things, but I feel as if none of them compare to squid game. It has such an excellent story to tell kind of similar to the hunger games in a way except you do not directly try to kill each other. There are 456 contestants and they are all in debt and were given the choice by mysterious men to play 6 different games for a large cash prize. With all of these contestants in debt, they tend to get pretty greedy and do anything to win. Even if it means killing your friends by tricking them. There are a lot of good surprises in this show that may shock you. There also is a ton of moments where you will feel terrible for the characters by seeing the things they experience and they way they feel about certain things. I would say that Squid Game is a very gruesome show with a lot of blood at every death. In the end, I would say that Squid Game is now my new favorite Netflix show and would give it a solid 9 out of 10 stars.

Ball State Visit

ball state university pro bags

Visiting loved ones while they are living on campus is what a lot of people do these days. It's always fun to see those loved ones again and see how they have changed over time. That was the case for me when I visited my girlfriends Nadia this past weekend. Although the drive was 3 straight hours, it was worth it in the end. The first day I got there, Nadia showed me all around the campus. She showed me where she ate, where her classes were, and her whole dorm building. After that, I treated her to Olive Garden, her favorite restaurant, for dinner. Next, we went to see the Marvel movie Shang-Chi. I would say it was one of the best movies I have ever seen. It started to get late after the movie so we decided to head back to her dorm and call it a night.

One of the best things about visiting a loved one far away for the weekend is getting to sleep in as late as you want. We ended up sleeping in until 11 AM. Nadia and I got ready for the day and mostly chilled this day. She dyed my hair back to brown this day and we went to concert held on campus by a band called AJR. I have never heard of them, but I thought they had some pretty good songs. After the concert, we went back to her dorm and ordered some pizza hut while watching a ton of Marvel movies like Black Panther and Doctor Strange.

The final day I visited, we got up around the same time and went to a small mall strip down the road. we explored the area and went to Halloween city, American Eagle, and Old Navy. I ended up getting a couple new flannels from American Eagle, but after that it was time for me to go home. We said our goodbyes and I mentally prepared for the 3 hour drive. Overall, I think visiting loved ones far away is one of the best experiences I have ever experienced.

Chasing Coral Questions

 1. Was there a specific scene that got to you? Describe and explain how it moved you (Angry? Curious? Delighted?  Motivated?). Give a lot of detail, and really dive in to how it affected you. Don’t hold back.

One Scene that got to me was at the beginning when you see all of the corals are gray and white. This shows us that the corals are dying and you can see all these scientists who have studied corals and are really sad to see them dying. I really truly felt sad for them because I also really care about our world and environment and seeing such precious life start to die truly is very sad.

2. What surprised you? Why do you think it caught you off guard?

I would say what surprised me was again at the beginning and seeing all of the corals die. I was really surprised to see that within 30 years and from temperature rising or lowering just a little bit can change a whole lot within ecosystems. I think it caught me off guard because on the surface, a slight change in temperature is nothing to us, but I could not believe that a small change in temperature could be that devastating.

3. What questions remain after the viewing? What feelings stayed with you after the film? Did they “pop up” in  your life in unexpected ways? When? How? What was that like?

I had a couple of questions after watching the film. Is the group still filming and trying to bring awareness to the oceans to this date and how many more countries and states have decided to become cleaner and help with this awareness? I didn't really have feelings that stayed with me after the film, but i did feel happy at the end to see so many people see what was happening and seeing that they could help fix the problem.

4. Why might we avoid including research in our summaries? What could go wrong?

Research in summaries can draw the reader away because they will start to get bored and lose interest in what you are saying.

My Disney Life Changing Experience

Going to Florida is a hot spot for vacationing. Every year I'll hear at least fifty people say that they went to Florida for vacation and I was one of those people this last summer. I was invited to go to Disneyworld with my lovely girlfriend Nadia and I felt that it was going to be a fresh new experience since I haven't gone to Disney since I was 2 years old. Nadia has been obsessed with Disney ever since she was a child and wanted to bring me along to show me the amazing experiences she has had all of her life. She had been planning this trip for months on end and I was about to experience all of Disney first hand.

As soon as we got there I got dragged everywhere we went. We went to every single park at the resort and had only one pool day. We would wake up super early and get to the parks an hour early to make sure we got on every ride. Surprisingly with all of the rushing around, I started to enjoy myself a ton. I feel like this was a part of my childhood that I missed out on and I felt like a little kid again. Towards the end of the trip, I could tell that she was getting sad that she was going to have to leave her favorite place on earth, but she was also glad that she was able to have been able to show me the amazing experience at Disney. Everyday since we arrived back home, I have been dying to go back and relive the experience again. I feel like I have bonded a lot more with not only Nadia, but her whole family as well. I feel like they are my second family that I can just go to whenever my actual family is not there. I really appreciate that Nadia decided to bring me along with and I love her making that choice.
